Churches

Greek churches and many Eastern Orthodox churches have a unique byzantine architectural design. In Western Christianity, a long aisled hall with an apse at one end is common. Eastern Christian churches have a more centralized design with a dome which sympolizes heaven. Often it is surrounded by structures at the four corners, creating a cruciform shape.

Paros-Antiparos

Cyclades is a group of thirty three islands in the Aegean Sea. The most well known and popular islands in Cyclades and overall that get most visitors are Santorini and Mykonos. Naxos and Paros are ranking third and fourth in Cyclades and in seventh and eighth among all islands. The ranking varies from year to year. Paros is very close to Naxos and not far from Mykonos. Paros is third largest island in Cyclades, after Naxos and Andros. Antiparos is a smaller island that is very close to Paros.

All Kyklades (also written like this) are similar in terms of the characteristic small white house architecture and narrow alleys. Also the beaches are generally similar. Santorini's beaches are an exception because of the volcano. Santorini does not have the best beaches in Cyclades but compensates with the magnificent scenery and night life. If you see Paros and Antiparos, you get a general idea of what the rest of Cyclades look like, although each island is undoubtedly unique. There are also differences regarding the night life. Some islands are quiet while others like Mykonos and Santorini have a lot of night life. In Paros, Naoussa has night life but less than Mykonos and Santorini.
